This program allows the user to have a Google Calendar on the desktop of their computer by asking the user to input the HTML code for a Google Calendar widget and then showing the result.

If a user doesn’t know how to find the HTML code for their calendar then the program can also be used to find this by opening up the Google Calendar widget help web page.

Program features:

  • Can optionally run on Windows startup
  • Doesn’t require the use of your Google account
  • Doesn’t show on the Windows taskbar

Development skills:

Due to the simplicity of the WebBrowser tool that comes as standard for WPF applications, in order to show the Google Calendar widgets I had to use a third-party software development kit; the one that I chose was Awesomium. This project gave me experience with installing and using SDKs in general as well as familiarising me with Awesomium.
